Self Portrait with Value

Students took their own photographs with the school IPad. Many included an object that reminded them of another person. Their expressions were a response to a story about that person; a time they felt empathy. Separate values were outlined then enlarged on a 15x15 square of quality paper. The tempera grays were premixed and the students marked the shapes with numbers corresponding to the correct gray, much like a color by number.
